Mary Washington Hospital Awards Grant to the Rx Partnership
The Mary Washington Hospital Foundation recently announced that it has provided a 2012 grant of $17,100 to Rx Partnership in Richmond, Virginia. This grant will be used to support increased access to medications for medically underserved patients of Moss Free Clinic in Fredericksburg. "Without the medication assistance from Rx Partnership our 1,938 patients would have difficulty obtaining the more than 59,000 prescriptions provided at the clinic and valued at over $12.5 million since 200" said Karen Dulaney, executive director of the Moss Free Clinic. RxP is pleased to announce AstraZeneca as the seventh pharmaceutical partner to join our program connecting uninsured individuals in Virginia to donated medication in bulk. This partnership will bring thousands of dollars worth of free medication to low-income, uninsured Virginians including medication to treat conditions such as high cholesterol, hypertension and asthma. "At AstraZeneca, we understand that our medicines only help patients if they can access those medicines" according to Christine McHenry, Director, Patient Assistance Programs. RxP Develops Continuing Education Credit for Pharmacists
In March 2010 RxP served as a rotation site for a fourth year VCU School of Pharmacy student who developed a Continuing Education (CE) Credit in partnership with the Virginia Pharmacists Association. The CE aimed at helping Pharmacists learn how to identify patients who may not be taking their medications because they can't afford them, and how to connect these patients with resources to access affordable health care. Sanofi-aventis U.S. Joins Rx Partnership
We are thrilled to announce sanofi-aventis U.S. as Rx Partnership’s sixth pharmaceutical partner to participate in our innovative bulk medication program.
Governor Timothy M. Kaine announced the partnership at Virginia Health Care Foundation’s
Heroes in Health Care event and noted that this partnership will bring thousands of dollars
worth of free medication, including insulin for diabetes, to uninsured people throughout the
state of Virginia. RxP’s affiliate free clinics and community health centers have already placed
initial stocking orders valued at more than $500,000.

RxP Partners and Supporters Recognized at Mutual of America Community Partnership Award Luncheon
On Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Chairman of the Mutual of America Foundation Thomas Gilliam recognized RxP and its community partners including Virginia State Government, participating pharmaceutical companies and Virginia’s free health clinics and community health centers at a luncheon event held at the Downtown Richmond Marriott, for their participation in a collaboration that has helped deliver more than $23 million worth of free prescription medication to uninsured Virginians throughout the Commonwealth.
RxP Named Top 10 Merit Finalist for 2008 Mutual of America Community Partnership Award
Rx Partnership was recently recognized as one of 10 Merit Finalists for the 2008 national Mutual of America Community Partnership Award. This annual award honors the contributions that nonprofit organizations, in partnership with public, private and other social sector organizations, make to society.
RxP Model Approved by OIG
In its first advisory opinion of 2008, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) approved Rx Partnership’s innovative bulk replacement model that helps accesses free prescription medication for uninsured Virginians. As a result of the OIG Opinion, GSK approved a contract amendment that allows RxP’s Community Health Center Affiliates to receive product and assist additional patients with vital, free medication.
