Adapting to Change: AMP 2.0 – Rx Partnership’s Commitment to Medication Access
At Rx Partnership, our mission has always been clear: ensure people in Virginia without insurance have access to the prescription medications they need. That mission hasn’t changed—even as we navigate some major transitions in our systems and support solutions.
With the recent closure of the Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic in Fredericksburg, Virginia, our long-standing AMP (Access to Medication Program) model, launched in 2017, can no longer operate as it once did. We want our clinic partners and supporters to know: we’re still here, and we’re working on a sustainable path forward.
While this program transition brings significant challenges to RxP, it also brings opportunity. While the circumstances are less than ideal and the timeline is much sooner than we had envisioned, the RxP Team is using this situation as a chance to rethink and rebuild a stronger, more sustainable, and more adaptable program to serve partner clinics and patients across the state.
We know change can be difficult—especially when it affects people’s health. That’s why we’re taking immediate action to support our clinic partners through this transition. We’re providing financial relief, sharing practical alternatives for accessing medications, and most importantly, working one-on-one with clinics in the coming weeks to develop new solutions.
Rx Partnership is already developing both short- and long-term strategies to meet this challenge. The goal is not just to restore services, but to build something better —an Access to Medication Program 2.0 that can grow and adapt with the communities we serve.
We will continue providing updates and opportunities for our partners to help us shape the future of this work. While the structure may change, our commitment to patients and to our partner clinics never will. It’s in our name! Partnership is who we are.
