A big reason why Rx Partnership has been able to help so many people in Virginia since 2004 is because of the relationships we create with clinic partners providing direct service to patients. Our job is to make their work more efficient, effective and less costly.
We work with partner clinics that have on-site pharmacies and those who do not to secure brand medication donations and provide generics at deep discounts.
We focus on medications so that the clinics can focus on their patients. Working together, we can accomplish so much more than we could individually.
Affiliate Clinics
Since 2004, Rx Partnership has provided medication in bulk to clinics with licensed pharmacies - Affiliate Clinics - for them to dispense to eligible patients. Rx Partnership provides critically needed generic and brand medications to vulnerable Virginians at or below 300% FPL who do not have health insurance.
By providing access to brand medications from four pharmaceutical manufacturers as well as the most needed generics, patients can receive their medication more quickly and with less paperwork than when utilizing Patient Assistance Programs.
This efficient approach to medication access saves time for the clinic and patient, increases medication adherence and ultimately helps improve health outcomes for a population that cannot afford the rising cost of medication.

Benefits of Participation
Benefits for Patients
A patient's prescription is submitted to an on-site pharmacy and available for pick-up at the same place the patient receives their care – sometimes the same day as it was prescribed.
Up to a 90-day supply of medication can be provided to reduce transportation challenges for your patients.
Patients can receive education on how and when to take their medication directly from pharmacy staff or from the provider who prescribed the medication.
Unlike at a retail pharmacy, patients are not charged a fee for medication, but may be asked for a donation (regardless of ability to pay, they will still receive their medications).
Benefits for Partner Clinics
Ongoing access to a reliable formulary of brand and generic medication. Medication is not short-dated or available in only limited quantities.
Providers can select the days supply depending on how closely they need to monitor a patient: 30-day for new prescriptions or patients who need lab monitoring or 90-day prescriptions for well-managed health conditions.
Stock bottles are on the shelf and ready to fill patient prescriptions - no running out of a medication.
A simple, electronic reporting and ordering process only needs to be completed once a month.
There are no charges for medication or shipping fees.
Rx Partnership provides additional benefits such as training and advocacy.
Requirements of Participation
Have a licensed nonprofit pharmacy
Screen patients annually for eligibility and maintain screening forms and financial documentation for all patients
Complete the Rx Partnership Affiliate Application
An annual Participation Fee (minimum $300 with no maximum) of $1.25 per prescription is assessed to the clinic based on utilization for unlimited quantities of medications
Have the capability/capacity to electronically submit monthly utilization data
Sign an annual Letter of Agreement
Access to Medication (AMP) Clinics
The Access to Medication Program (AMP) provides critically needed generic and brand medications to vulnerable Virginians at a wide range of health care facilities without a pharmacy across the Commonwealth.
The AMP program partners with Affiliate Partner Clinics serving as AMP Pharmacies, streamlining operations with a consistent formulary of critical medications. This model achieves 80% savings compared to retail pharmacies and allows AMP Clinics to assess medication adherence and ensure patients receive timely refills.
By providing access to the most needed generics, Rx Partnership can help reduce facilities’ overall spend on medication. We can help clinics increase their prescription pick-up rate, and ultimately improve health outcomes for a population that cannot afford the rising cost for generics.

Requirements of Participation
Obtain a Controlled Substance Registration license to be an Alternate Delivery Site with the Board of Pharmacy.
Complete AMP profile/application.
Screen patients annually for eligibility and maintain screening forms and financial documentation for all patients.
Adhere to AMP Standard Operating Procedures.
Sign an annual AMP Letter of Agreement.
