Who We Are
Rx Partnership increases medication access for the vulnerable in Virginia and strengthens the health safety net. We envision a Virginia where everyone has access to the medication they need, and no one has to sacrifice their health to make ends meet.

Our Strategy: Partnership = Impact
Rx Partnership removes barriers by:
- securing medications,
- streamlining distribution, and
- supporting community health providers including organizations that form the health safety net
across Virginia
We work with partner clinics that have on-site pharmacies, and those who do not, to secure brand medication donations and provide generics that Rx Partnership purchases at deep discounts.
Rx Partnership can cut the cost of medication for partner clinics up to 80%, freeing resources to hire staff and offer more services.
Rx Partnership multiplies the impact of free clinics in the community, so that by working together, we can help more people.

A Growing Crisis for Virginia
Virginia is heading into a period of rising health insecurity. Federal policy changes going into effect in 2026 are expected to increase the number of uninsured Virginians, and medication access is often the first and most dangerous gap when people lose coverage.
When uninsured patients can’t afford prescriptions, chronic illnesses worsen quickly — leading to preventable ER visits, hospitalizations, and long-term harm.
Rx Partnership (RxP) lives its values every day: Accountability, Collaboration, Innovation, and Resource Optimization. With rising needs upon us, these values are foundational to the work we do to keep people in Virginia healthy. RxP is the only nonprofit in Virginia solely focused on medication access for people without insurance.
FY2025 brought unexpected challenges. When a key pharmacy partner abruptly closed, our Rx Partnership team of committed staff and dedicated board members had to quickly pivot to adapt. Nearly half of the RxP partner clinics and their patients were in danger of losing their access to affordable medication.
By leaning into our values, we are now on a path to better medication access solutions for Virginia. We would not have been able to achieve success so quickly without our partners working collaboratively with us and stepping up with the RxP team to meet the need.

Rx Partnership's Impact Since 2004
Access to Medication Means Access to Health
One patient at a RxP partner clinic in central Virginia is “Anna.” She is 49 and has asthma, diabetes, and a major depressive disorder. Without access to medication, Anna says that she would not be able to have a productive, healthy life.
Rx Partnership provides eight medications for Anna. With our help, she is able to manage her chronic health conditions.

Without it, I don’t know if I would even be here.”
Rebuilding Access to Medication in Virginia
Rx Partnership launched the Access to Medication Program (AMP) in 2017 to serve clinics without licensed pharmacies. For the past eight years, AMP has been a vital part of Virginia’s health safety net, filling and shipping prescriptions statewide with the help of pharmacy partners at Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic in Fredericksburg and, beginning in 2024, Northern Neck-Middlesex Free Health Clinic in Kilmarnock.
By June 2025, AMP had grown to serve 15 clinics with its pharmacy services: In FY25 alone, AMP provided 26,411 prescriptions—valued at over $12 million—to more than 3,400 patients. For many clinics, AMP is the difference between patients receiving daily, chronic medications and falling through the cracks.
When Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic abruptly closed in June 2025, it devastated the network of free clinics who relied on pharmacy services through Rx Partnership’s AMP.
Over the summer of 2025, Rx Partnership worked to find solutions for the AMP clinics impacted by the Moss closure. Northern Neck, the sole AMP Pharmacy after Moss closed, quickly expanded its capacity to help support additional clinics.

Soon after, Sinclair Health Clinic in Winchester, Virginia stepped forward to offer their services as Rx Partnership’s second and newest AMP Pharmacy. The support of these two partners has been truly indispensable in meeting the needs of the clinics and patients that rely on AMP for medication access.
Rx Partnership is proud to collaborate with Sinclair and Northern Neck to strengthen Virginia’s health safety net. Yet the need is still growing: RxP is working to develop a third AMP Pharmacy to serve more clinics and what is anticipated to be a growing number of uninsured patients across the state starting in 2026.
We look forward to continuing to collaborate with our partners and supporters to ensure that Virginians living with chronic health conditions can receive their life-saving medications.

Strategic Plan Year 2 Update
Our vision is a future where everyone in Virginia has access to the medication they need. The RxP Strategic Plan outlines core goals to expand our reach, grow and strengthen partnerships, and build organizational capacity through leveraging data and investing in the people, processes, and tools we need.
Through consistent staff and board engagement, clear baselines and milestones identified, as well as regular progress review, this plan guides our progress and remains a living document for our work.
For year two, the focused priorities of the RxP Board of Directors and staff include growing new (and enhancing current) partnerships, building new systems, and strengthening existing systems for data-driven growth.
